Join me at Unwind Wine Bar in Hyde Park to celebrate me COMING OUT!!! Girl, please...that was ten years ago.
But I am Coming Out Against Cancer, because Cancer doesn't discriminate; I am very fortunate to have lived a cancer free life, thus far. But I know many individuals who have been affect by it.

Two of my great friend's and proud gay owners of Unwind Wine Bar Darrick Beekman and Victor Abler are here to support me, by donating 20% of the sales between 5 PM — 8 PM to go to the American Cancer Society's effort with Coming Out Against Cancer.

It took me many years to feel comfortable to be able to come out of the closet as a gay man. Today, after ten years of being out of the closet, I am very proud work with the American Cancer Society, to use my platform of being an OUT AND PROUD GAY PERSON to share how my peers in the LGBTQ+ community are some of the largest civic, philanthropic and charitable people in the communities we live our community.

A little bit about my story: I have lived in Cincinnati for six plus years. It's been a whirlwind, but over the past six years I have seen this city grow into an impressive queen it truly is. As I walk down Main Street, which I have been a resident since moving here, and seeing all the Rainbow flags in almost every business — it just makes me tear up to think that a city which was once very homophobic is now celebrating the LGBTQ+ Community with open arms.

As Pride weekend begins in Cincinnati, I wanted to take the time to share something special with you all I have decided to take part with in. I am participating in Come Out Against Cancer!

As I celebrate my tenth year from me coming out of the closet I wanted to do something to pay homage to my journey. I have been reflecting of how scared and nervous I was to tell people that I am a gay male. I knew very little about what gay was/is and I only knew what I saw from MTV's Real World or seeing very stereotypical gay me and women on TV and film (let me tell you — very few role models back then in the 90's). I told myself that no matter what, I will always be Mike. I hope that has held true.

I am very fortunate to have lasting friendship with people all over the world, I have pretty much a dream job, a supporting family, and to really have a platform to do good in my community. And cancer is something that doesn’t discriminate, we can all rally behind finding a cure.

With that being said, whether you are gay, my friend, a survivor...Please support me with a donation.

Please consider giving a gift to my page directly and I hope you can make it to the event.
