Join us in the grassy knoll outside the kid's park on Sunday, June 25th from 1p-3p for Pop-Up Play!
Have your child paint their heart [out] with Artsy Fartsy Saturdays (we realize it’s Sunday) as we explore all of our beautiful skin tones based on the book “The Colors of Us” by Karen Katz. Are you cinnamon or coffee, caramel or cream? With a variety of multi-cultural colors, we’ll use table easels to paint ourselves and/or each other and write down our best attributes. This is a time to revel in the richness of what makes us, well, us. Open to all ages, though those 6 and under may require parental or other adult assistance.
Cathy Barney, a writer and artist, launched Artsy Fartsy Saturdays 5 years ago to creatively nurture 4-6th graders in her neighborhood who live in subsidized housing. They’ve been exploring crazy art of all kinds. She’s facilitated Where the Wild Things Play @ Washington Park for 3 years. Come join her for Pop-Up Play with a heart.
