The Clermont County Fair and Ohio Valley Productions are proud to announce the headliner at the July 28th, 2017 Clermont County Fair concert event is the multiple award winning, country music sensation, Sara Evans.
On the heels of an amazing 2016 concert, the Clermont County Fair Board was determined to make 2017 even bigger. With an amazing headline artist, special guest artists, an expanded concert area, additional seating options, a huge VIP tent party, and moving the big show to Friday night, they expect this show to be one for the record books.
Over the years, Sara Evans has developed a reputation for delivering thoroughly satisfying albums full of great songs brought to life by her distinctive voice. She has that heart-in-the-throat quality that turned Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn into legends coupled with an edgy contemporary sensibility that keeps her at the vanguard of today’s successful country performers. She’s sold nearly six million records and her last four albums have been certified Gold, Platinum or multi-Platinum. She’s scored five No. 1 hits, among them “Suds in the Bucket,” “A Real Fine Place to Start,” “No Place That Far” and “A Little Bit Stronger,” the title track of her chart-topping 2011 album Stronger. The single was No. 1 for two weeks and was certified platinum by the R.I.A.A. Evans has amassed an impressive collection of awards, including female vocalist from the Academy of Country Music and video of the year from the Country Music Association for her ground breaking clip “Born to Fly.”
In addition to her music, Evans is an accomplished author of three books with co-writer Rachel Hauck and writes a lifestyle blog, “A Real Fine Place,” with her sister-in-law Kaelin “K.K” Evans where they share their passion for fashion, beauty, travel and food. She was the first country artist to compete on ABC’s popular “Dancing with the Stars” and she’s been named one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People.”
Award winning country star Buddy Jewell will be making a guest appearance this year, opening for Evans with an acoustic set on the main stage and meeting fans in the VIP tent. Buddy Jewell burst onto the country music scene after winning the inaugural season of the USA Network’s hit television series “Nashville Star.” After Buddy’s win, Columbia Records released his self-titled debut album “Buddy Jewell” which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Album charts as well as #13 on the Top 100 Pop Album Charts. The album was certified Gold later that same year, selling over ½ million copies. Buddy’s first two singles, “Sweet Southern Comfort” and “Help Pour Out the Rain (Lacey’s Song)” both landed in the top 5 on the singles chart. Jewell has since followed up with 5 more albums, “Times Like These,” “Country Enough”, “I Surrender All”, “Wanted: LIVE “and his newest release, “My Father’s Country.”
Kicking off the big night will be CMA recording artist, and local fan favorite, the Dan Varner Band. Dan is one of the rare finds in this industry where vocals, songwriting and stage presence come together to offer the “full package.” Combine that with a genuine love and appreciation of the country music tradition and you have a performer who can compete with Nashville’s finest.
